AAC Governorship Candidate Doris Ogala Hospitalised After Losing Consciousness, Reports Bleeding in Detention
Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has reportedly been hospitalised after losing consciousness and experiencing bleeding while in detention.
The development emerged on Thursday, November 5, 2026, after a source close to the actress raised concerns about her health in a video shared with SaharaReporters.
According to the associate, he spoke with Ogala by telephone after she was taken to a hospital, where she was receiving medical attention.
The source said the actress told him that she had lost consciousness, was bleeding and could not remember when she was moved from the correctional facility to the hospital.
Ogala was also reportedly heard confirming that she was receiving medical attention and expressing concern about the bleeding, which she linked to complications following an earlier surgical operation.
The circumstances surrounding her reported collapse, the nature of the bleeding and the hospital where she is receiving treatment have not been independently established. As of the time of this report, there was no confirmed public statement from the correctional authorities or hospital management detailing her condition.

In June 2026, the actress was hospitalised at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, after reportedly losing consciousness during a medical consultation.

A medical report subsequently circulated in November was reported to have linked an earlier episode of severe anaemia to a fibroid condition. The report also referred to a previous myomectomy procedure.

Why Doris Ogala is in detention
Ogala was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos on October 28, 2026, following her arraignment before the Federal High Court over allegations involving Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
The Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation filed three counts against her bordering on alleged cyberstalking, cyberbullying and attempted extortion.
According to the prosecution, Ogala allegedly published intimate photographs of the cleric without his consent, circulated electronic messages said to contain false information and threatened to release additional damaging material unless certain demands were met.
The alleged offences were said to have occurred between September 2024 and March 2026.
